Social Media and Mobile Marketing Manager Wanted
GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Walden University team has an exciting opportunity for a passionate Social Media Manager to train and mentor the organization on the effective use of social media and mobile tools/applications. They will also project manage the workflow and execute on campaigns using a full array of social media/mobile tools & services.
The ideal person must be energetic, creative, an excellent writer and internet-savvy; immersed in what it means to “live life online”. Daily use of twitter, blogs, message boards and social networks are required. We would also prefer those who are active within SM community, readers of Mashable and ReadWriteWeb, etc.
He or she will also develop business cases, marketing plans and proposals for implementing social media solutions across our multiple departments and colleges. This person is a strong collaborator and team player that can function in a fast paced environment and is also able to take full accountability for the implementation of social media programs which increase leads, brand awareness and prospect engagement. The Walden Social Media Manager will also be the lead on evaluating opportunities in mobile marketing. Again, this manager will work across multiple internal departments to identify opportunities utilizing the mobile channel for lead generation and brand building.
Key job components will include:
Maintaining and sharing up to date knowledge on all new and developing social media/mobile trends Lead the university team more deeply into social media by sparking excitement and conversation with consumers in the key social media channels Work with internal and external teams to engage bloggers and other key thought-leaders Work with legal and regulatory departments to establish an employee protocol when interacting within these online communities Establish and maintain a measurement system for tracking the effectiveness of social media activities Build strategies and proposals for implementing effective Social media campaigns Create an environment of excellence and leadership in social media Deliver on time, and on budget, social campaigns which surpass expected goals Being a team player
We are looking for someone who is experienced and confident enough to take risks and deal with uncertainty while exhibiting caution when warranted. This person will use excellent presentation skills to regularly report to the executive team as well as to key internal departments, becoming a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in this digital domain.
Experience: EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: 3-4 years online marketing experience with a strong focus on Web 2.0 technologies Must be an enthusiastic and avid social media junky Ability to generate ideas and work within minimal guidance Strong communication and interpersonal skills Solid project management skills preferred Effective people management skills Fluency in English Excellent Writer
