This position is responsible for building and managing a Social Media practice for TIAA-CREF. This includes developing and executing against an integrated social media strategy and roadmap that address B2C, B2B and internal audiences, and providing strategic oversight to all current and future social media initiatives (e.g.Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, MyRetirement.org).

Primary Responsibilities

Define TIAA-CREF’s position on the use of Social Media
Identification of proper social engagement venues, both internal and external to TIAA-CREF’s own properties
Identification of opportunities and value provided by use of social engagement tactics within current and future projects and marketing/communication mix.
Partnering with internal stakeholders such as Corporate Communications, Marketing, Client Services, Legal and Compliance to understand their unique goals, objectives and challenges and ensure alignment across the organization. Shaping and advising editorial calendar, Leading Social Media governance committee. Collaborating with Digital Strategy and Experience Leads on identification and management of social media monitoring solution. Development of emergency response procedures
Identification and management of Social Media agency partners. Engage with internal and external market research resources to identify, understand, share and act-on emerging marketplace and competitive trends.
Effectively communicate the social media strategy and progress against roadmap.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Five to seven years of digital marketing experience with a minimum of three years working in Social Media/Social Engagement. Proven success in developing and managing marketing programs that support business needs and achieve objectives in a metrics-driven environment. Excellent leadership, relationship management, presentation and communications skills that establish trust, credibility and respect. Ability to converse with and influence key internal constituents including business partners and other co-workers with whom no direct reporting relationship exist
A strategic thinker with strong planning and execution abilities who is flexible and can function effectively in a dynamic organization.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience; MBA in marketing a plus.
Preferred: experience developing social marketing tactics for a highly regulated industry.
