#236004 – Emerging Media Manager
This position is responsible for developing and implementing strategic and tactical external communication and outreach strategies utilizing new and existing electronic communications methods. This position will champion social media across a wide range of consumer and business technology products and services, while providing expert advice and guidance to others; monitor and measure online dialogues to inform communication strategies and identify issues and create a new electronic resource center.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develops social media relations programs, and engages key Web influencers and bloggers, in order to build T-Mobile’s visibility, credibility and brand. Works cross-functionally with stakeholders across the organization to help achieve agreement and alignment on corporate social media strategies and policies.  Ensures content on companywide social media platforms and Web sites is consistent with corporate strategy. Ensures that communications opportunities, positioning and feedback on the Web is tracked, measured and leveraged as appropriate.  . Assists business communicators and leadership to include social media elements to media relations outreach on behalf of operational and programmatic pitching
  • Advises on and directs the production of effective social media outreach tools for PR purposes, with an emphasis on new media techniques and creative ways of engaging audiences. Surveys the Internet landscape to stay on top of emerging trends. Identifies and assesses emerging online communications practices and works cross functionally to implement solutions to facilitate the integration of such technologies across T-Mobile.
  • Creates cost-effective programs and methods of measuring social media results overall and by functional area and evaluating against company strategy as well as reporting to internal clients. Manages the PR agency related to digital and social media.
  • Manages social media outreach in times of crisis, and for ongoing issues management, in concert with the issues management and business communications for operational areas and related support functions. Protects and promotes T-Mobile’s reputation through and on social media.
  • Also responsible for other Duties/Projects as assigned by business management as needed

Experience

  • 6+ years developing & managing complex communication plans in an agency or corporate environment.  Significant experience in social media, as well as PR programming and planning; as well as exposure to Integrated Marketing functions and environments. Demonstrated expertise with mainstream (consumer and business) print and broadcast media
  • Demonstrated leadership and innovation in social media campaigns, technologies, emerging platforms and the ability to keep up with the changing landscape. Extensive knowledge of social media tools.  Requires experience in social media and interactive Internet techniques and environments to include Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Digg, Wikis, Twitter, blogs, podcasts, etc
  • Telecommunications industry and cross-cultural experience; background in consumer technology
  • Background in Community and Legal affairs and/or consumer, trade, and technology PR extremely desirable; with a definite knowledge and understanding of how top-tier, best-in-class PR is generated
  • Demonstrated strong organizational skills, idea driven; history of anticipating issues and the skills to be strategic, proactive and assertive.

Education

  • BA/BS Communications, Journalism, English, PR or related field required.
