<p>JOB RESPONSIBILITIES</p>

<h3>The area: User Experience</h3>
<p>We follow a simple but vital premise in the User Experience group: &#8220;Focus on the user and all else will follow.&#8221; We&#8217;re passionately interested in our users and strive to learn everything we can about their behaviors, attitudes and emotions to help define the products and experiences we create. The User Experience team is a critical driving force behind gathering these insights and then using them to inspire and inform design. We are a multi-disciplinary team of interaction designers, visual designers, user researchers, copywriters and Web developers who collaborate closely with each other and with engineering and product management to create innovative, usable, great-looking products that people love to use.</p>
<h3>The role: User Experience Researcher</h3>
<p>As a User Experience Researcher for YouTube, you will help set strategy for, design, and conduct user research studies across the product cycle, from the concept phase to post-launch evaluation. You will be highly skilled in a range of research methods and will have significant experience working on discovery research for new web-based applications. YouTube researchers work in close collaboration with designers, product managers, marketing staff and engineers to build products with a laser-like focus on the needs of real users. Researchers possess strong quantitative UER skills, are able to adapt to our fast paced environment, have outstanding communication skills, are able to work successfully with interdisciplinary teams, and coach/lead UERs on the team to develop new methods and improve their current areas of expertise fostering their career development.</p>
<p>You should be able to demonstrate a successful track record in three or more of the following areas: accessibility and universal design, creation of personas, field-based research techniques such as ethnography, analysis of web server log data, summative evaluations or benchmarking of technological products, management of outsourced user research projects, participatory design techniques, testing applications for mobile devices, online communities and social computing. Additional helpful skills are experience working with vendors to support research and design, working with geographically dispersed teams, experience with internationalization and localization, and the ability to turn design research findings into a workable set of principles or design standards.</p>
<p>While we assume that most qualified applicants will have an advanced degree in a relevant research field, we welcome applications from research practitioners whose qualifications have come from less traditional paths. If you&#8217;ve acquired your expertise in user research through non-academic means, or through non-traditional courses, please include a note explaining how you&#8217;ve come to be part of the research field.</p>
<h4>Responsibilities:</h4>
<ul>
<li>Carry out and/or supervising laboratory based evaluations of web-based products, including working with teams, deciding on methods and timelines for studies, and demonstrating positive impact on projects and products.</li>
<li>Set up a system to ensure high quality research and effective communication, help the UER team work more efficiently, take advantage of larger UER community at Google and improve the infrastructure of the team (i.e. participant recruiting).</li>
<li>Design and conduct different types of user research studies, including lab-based usability studies, field studies, and usability inspections (heuristic evaluations or cognitive walkthroughs) as well as participation in product reviews and strategic research planning.</li>
<li>Explain the fundamentals of research practice to non-specialists and drive change based on research findings.</li>
<li>Advocate the team&#8217;s abilities and user experience research to incorporate it into the overall product cycle and help grow the discipline at YouTube.</li>
</ul>
<h4>Requirements:</h4>
<ul>
<li>B.S. in Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Psychology, Computer Science, and/or at least 5 years of relevant work experience including experience/interest with some of the following: social media, search, content rich sites, user generated content, communities.</li>
<li>Excellent analytical ability, especially with regard to observation of user behavior.</li>
<li>Strong oral and written communication skills; can present findings concisely and effectively.</li>
<li>Can work well in cross-functional teams, including engineers, product managers, and UI designers.</li>
<li>Knowledge or experience with web design/HTML and analysis of web server log data.</li>
<li>Training or knowledge of research methods and statistics including lab-based usability studies, field studies, and usability inspections.</li>
<li>Flexible: can adapt to changing schedules and different types of products, and develop new user research methods where needed.</li>

<p>In this role, the Director will develop and proactively counsel business partners on the strategy that guides McDonald&#8217;s USA program activation, as well as in crisis and issues management within social media, effectively reaching and engaging defined audiences in addition to driving awareness and trial of new food news/promotions and protecting/enhancing the overall brand.</p>
<p>Specifically, the Director will develop and execute the social media strategy for the U.S. Business inclusive of social networking, blogger relations, micro-blogging, crisis/issues management, brand engagement, etc.</p>
<p>The Director will also align the social media strategy with supported U.S. Business and global departments (e.g., Marketing, HR, corporate communications, corporate social responsibility, etc.) and with other U.S. Communication departmental areas (e.g., media relations, third parties/public affairs, external, internal and management communications).</p>

* At least 5-8 years total communications experience required. They will also project manage the workflow and execute on campaigns using a full array of social media/mobile tools &amp; services.</p>
<p>The ideal person must be energetic, creative, an excellent writer and internet-savvy; immersed in what it means to &#8220;live life online&#8221;. Daily use of twitter, blogs, message boards and social networks are required. We would also prefer those who are active within SM community, readers of Mashable and ReadWriteWeb, etc.</p>
<p>He or she will also develop business cases, marketing plans and proposals for implementing social media solutions across our multiple departments and colleges. This person is a strong collaborator and team player that can function in a fast paced environment and is also able to take full accountability for the implementation of social media programs which increase leads, brand awareness and prospect engagement. The Walden Social Media Manager will also be the lead on evaluating opportunities in mobile marketing. <p>Body1 is looking for a temp Content &#8211; Social Media Associate to work with our team from 12/28/2009 through 2/1/2010. This is a part-time consulting position, about 30 hours/week. Body1 is looking for somebody with a background in on-line journalism, senior editorial experience, and a passion for health care to join their growing team.</p>

<p><strong>Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities </strong></div>

Five to seven years of digital marketing experience with a minimum of three years working in Social Media/Social Engagement. Proven success in developing and managing marketing programs that support business needs and achieve objectives in a metrics-driven environment. Excellent leadership, relationship management, presentation and communications skills that establish trust, credibility and respect. Ability to converse with and influence key internal constituents including business partners and other co-workers with whom no direct reporting relationship exist<br />
A strategic thinker with strong planning and execution abilities who is flexible and can function effectively in a dynamic organization.</div>

Bachelor&#8217;s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience; MBA in marketing a plus.<br />
Preferred: experience developing social marketing tactics for a highly regulated industry.</div>

<p>This role is responsible for setting Human Resources’ global social media strategy to drive traffic and online community involvement.  This position will work with cross-functional HR teams to conceptualize, develop, and deploy programs and content that increases online community awareness and participation in order to drive Life Technologies Corp. brand awareness, expand the candidate pool through these new channels, and improve talent acquisition and/or recruiting effectiveness.</p>
<p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities: </p>
<p>·          Collaborate with cross-functional HR teams to create, develop and deploy programs and content that drives Life Technologies Corp. brand awareness, expands the candidate pool through new social media channels, and improves talent acquisition and/or recruiting effectiveness.  </p>
<p>·          Serve as primary point of contact for promoting and driving social media programs.   Maintain external enthusiasm for Life Technologies Corp., and its two brand platforms.   This includes representing the HR team on the company’s Social Media Council.</p>
<p>·          Develop programs for defining the HR social media community purpose, strategy, and creative direction.   This includes the creation and execution of social media marketing channels (Twitter, Facebook, myspace, etc.) and community event campaigns to drive traffic and community involvement to help drive talent acquisition strategies.</p>
<p>·          Own and deploy the numerous existing HR programs, including the Talent Referral Program, into these new social media channels with the goal of expanding the talent pool and improving recruiting effectiveness.   This includes leading the effort to recruit, train and oversee existing employee involvement for the purpose of integrating social media efforts into existing programs.  </p>
<p>·          Develop, maintain and manage content, including FAQs and “help” tutorials for HR social media channels.</p>
<p>·          Work with corporate communications to ensure that HR involvement in the social media community abides by company standards, rules and guidelines, and further builds the Life Technologies Corp brand.   This includes developing strategies for monitoring and enforcing said standards within the social media channels to minimize conflict that may impact the company. (i.e. monitor for inappropriate videos, posts, profanity, etc…)</p>
<p>·          Relay pertinent information (industry trends, hot topics, etc&#8230;) from the community to internal recruiting team to optimize and leverage talent acquisition.</p>
<p>·          Measure and communicate the impact of web community/social media strategies and tactics using agreed upon tracking metrics.</p>
<p>·          Ownership of Life Technologies Talent Referral Program, including global marketing, growth and metrics of the program. </p>
